Salsa - A dance and music originating from Cuba which has grown and evolved all over the world. The term Salsa relating to the music genre was coined in the 1970’s meaning Hot & Spicy and is one of the most popular social dances in the UK. The music and dance can vary, reflecting it’s influences across the world but there is no mistaking the underlying sounds of a piece of Salsa music.
Bachata - A fun dance, sometimes relaxed and creative originating from the Dominican Republic. The music is like no other and when you hear it it transports you to the caribbean. Like Salsa the dance has evolved over the years with influences from other dance styles but of course will focus on the authentic dance.
Merengue - Also originates from the Dominican Republic and is their national dance. The music has a real party atmosphere where no one can sit still. The music is highly charged, fast and upbeat with the dance being energetic and lots of fun.
Rueda - A dance that when seen for the first time is never forgotten! Originating in Cuba it combines cuban salsa footwork and partner work in a rotation circle with other couples, constantly moving and following the “callers” instructions. Sound crazy?? It is!
